Specialised Finance
Specialised Finance is responsible for the more highly structured transactions within Banking Division.
In keeping with Standard Bank's business model, the vast majority of our business has an emerging markets slant to it.
This business broadly falls into three categories:
Acquisition Finance
Funding for LBOs, MBOs, privatisations, public to private transactions and recapitalisations. This usually takes the form of senior or mezzanine debt.
Structured Finance
Tailor made structured solutions to a broad range of issues that our clients face, including:
-
Taxation issues
-
Regulatory capital issues
-
Balance sheet restructurings, etc.
-
Lease financing.
-
Receivables-backed financing.
Islamic Finance
The provision of financing in a form that is fully compliant with Islamic Shari'ah law. This can either be for Islamic banks who wish to raise funds in the international markets in a form that is Shari'ah complaint, or for conventional or non-Islamic banks who wish to structure their borrowings in a way that will appeal to Islamic banks and financial institutions.
